Vagabond Blues is looking for an experienced and passionate Cook to join our back of house team! We are looking for a self motivated individual with high standards for cleanliness and efficiency. Punctuality is a must, as well as a positive attitude open to constructive guidance. Ideally we are looking for someone with previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment, with skills as a line cook, prep cook, and soup cook. We are a teaching kitchen and are willing to bring on the right candidate that wants to learn the ropes. Must be a dependable team player with an upbeat, motivated and positive personality! Job duties include;
- Follow proper food handling procedures, including cooling and storing at appropriate temperatures
- Prep and cook food items according to standard recipes with high accuracy
- Rotate and organize stock, make sure all orders are put away in correct places (able to lift 50 lbs)
- Maintain inventory and pars to reduce waste
- Work as a team to complete all line and prep items in a timely manner
-Focus on quality with pride in their work
-Demonstrated ability to work with speed and efficiency
-Must be able to work without direct supervision and understand the importance of prioritizing work load, organization, cleanliness and sanitation
Additional requirements: Must have a State of Alaska food worker's card prior to employment.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
