Our Weekly is looking for a copy editor/writer with at least five years of experience working at either a weekly or a daily newspaper to serve as assistant editor. Must know A.P. style as well as how to improve editorial copy without eliminating the writer's voice.
The right candidate will be a flexible people-person with a sense of humor and a willingness to contribute to a tight knit team.
Responsibilities include assisting with copy editing and the editorial production process; writing articles; posting items on the website and social media daily; covering outside assignments and taking photos, when necessary; headline writing and other duties assigned.
