Human Resource Manager

The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering benefits, leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Recruits, interviews, hires, and onboards new staff.

Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations along with program managers.

Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.

Attends job fairs and other recruiting events.

Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.

Maintains and oversees staff training platforms and documentation for accreditation.

Maintains employee files.

Manages the talent acquisition process, which includes posting positions on multiple hiring platforms for recruitment, participates in the interviewing process, and hiring of qualified job applicants.

Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.

Conducts employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

A minimum of five years of human resource management experience preferred.

SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

Must successfully pass a background check and meet insurance carrier’s requirements for approval to drive if hired. Work hours are Monday – Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm although there will be some additional hours based on workflow and deadlines. Starting salary is $66,560 to $75,000 annually with medical, dental and vision benefits provided, 403b contribution and matching, as well as generous paid time off. Position begins asap.
