Seeking an experienced Project Manager/Job Captain for a small drafting firm based in Oakland:
1. Should be very familiar with the Pre-Construction cycle of Zoning Research, Design, Engineering, Title 24, CD Set, Submittal and addressing comments. If you have experience as a Job Captain this would be ideal.
2. An important part of this role is submitting plans to Planning and Building Dept's throughout California. You should be very familiar with doing this.
3. You will be the main point of contact for the client as well as manage the Draftsperson, Engineer, Title 24 Tech, making sure the Building Plans come together and are ready for submittal to the Planning and Building Dept's.
4. Need to be able to get ahead of potential problems and proactive in updating clients on status.
5. Must be able handle some demanding clients. It is rare that we get difficult clients, but this does happen, and you must be able to handle it all professionally. That said, you will be fully supported.
6. Must have a sense of urgency to push a project through to the finish line.
7. Should be able to read Building Plans with ease, plus if you cold draft or are knowledgeable enough to red line plans for errors prior to submittal and to confirm all plan check comments are addressed.
$28/Hr to start, part time. You could do this remotely, but we may eventually want you to come into the office in Downtown Oakland. Please send resumes.
