About The Position:

The Administrative Services Officer position in the Recreation and Parks Department is a professional level position with a full range of administrative support duties ranging from human resources transactions such as hiring new employees and monitoring performance evaluations, to duties in support of the department's budget process. The ideal candidate will possess:

Experience with human resources management, including recruitment and hiring, evaluation and discipline.

Experience with budget preparation, coordination, presentation and monitoring.

Excellent interpersonal skills and an effective collaborative style.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience preparing and making presentations to councils, boards, or similar governing bodies.

Effective and creative problem-solving skills.

Experience developing effective work teams.

A Bachelor's Degree (or the equivalent), preferably in public/business administration or closely related field.

The Santa Rosa Recreation & Parks provides recreational experiences, fosters human development, increases cultural unity, protects environmental resources, facilitates community problem solving, strengthens safety and security, promotes health and wellness, strengthens community image and sense of place and supports economic development. The Santa Rosa Recreation & Parks Department operates and maintains over 1,100 acres of City park lands, open space, civic space and roadside landscaping along with over 10,000 trees. SELECTION PROCESS:

An eligible list will be established as a result of this selection process and may be used to fill future vacancies.
