Lead Ornamental Gardener

We are seeking a Lead Ornamental Gardener for full time (4-5 days per week) employment who is committed to upholding the above social equity values in our work place. The gardeners will work both as a part of a small team and independently, to provide organic care and maintain the health and beauty of integrated edible and ornamental landscapes.
Job responsibilities and duties: Organic care of client vegetable gardens, fruit trees, perennial edibles including: harvesting, succession planting, crop planning and management, organic pest control, organic fertilization, skilled aesthetic pruning, deadheading, troubleshooting and repair of drip irrigation systems, garden clean up using a rake and electric-blower, weeding, safe loading and driving of truck.
Needed for 4 - 5 days per week. Soft start moving into regular schedule.
Pay rate is $25-35 per hour, depending on experience.
Qualifications/Skills/Attributes:
-Ornamental landscape maintenance experience ideally 2+ years.
-Edible garden care/Veggie farming experience a plus, but not required.
- Applicants will need a valid CA driver's license, clean DMV record, a working cell phone, and appropriate work attire
- A vehicle you can use to transport yourself as well as plants and tools to job sites (we have company trucks for carrying garden materials but occasionally we have more people going out than trucks available).
- Reliable, motivated, hard working, on time, efficient
- Can work independently and as part of a small team of 2-3 gardeners
-Detail orientated and able to follow directions
-Good communication skills and positive attitude
-Willingness to learn and share knowledge
-Maintain great client relations
- Love working outside all day rain or shine!
- Be physically fit
- Be able to safely lift and carry heavy or awkward loads up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive physical tasks
- Have a basic familiarity with landscaping tools and equipment
