This is a onsite, direct hire role located in Oakland CA with a pay range of $35-40/hour depending on experience. You must have very effective organizational and communication skills to service our clientele efficiently.As a Mechanic you would be responsible for maintaining the equipment we rent. We seek highly motivated mechanics with experience in construction and industrial equipment. Knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, gas and diesel machinery is required.RequirementsPrevious mechanic service experience in the equipment rental/construction industry and/or related field preferredPositive attitudeExcellent verbal communicationProfessional & clean appearanceAble to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrate understanding of rental softwareAn ability to function well as part of a teamEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGreet customers and assist with customer inquiriesMaintain and make Rental Ready a variety of construction equipment and tools to ensure their safe operation and customer readiness for rental or purchasePerform timely check out/check inLoad/unload equipmentCheck equipment for damage, record hours used, mileage and fuel levelsPerform pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts to and from outside vendors and other locations for purchase and/or repairFollow all Operational Procedures and QC StandardsEvaluate and complete equipment repairsComplete Parts OrderMaintain Parts inventoryResponsible for cleaning and maintaining shop and equipmentResponsible for maintaining a safe work environment at all timesInspect equipment and trucks for safety decals and compliancePerform any other duties as assigned by the Store Manager, Store Lead MechanicEducation, Experience and Required Skills, Including Certificates, Licenses and RegistrationsHigh school diploma or equivalentValid California driver's licenseBasic Equipment Industry trainingPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentActivities requiring handling and grasping with the hands when performing repairs or maintenance of equipment by utilizing hand tools, power tools, air tools, nuts, bolts, electronic controls, and other small partsOccasional use of foot/feet to operate foot pedal on equipment to test operationFrequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., and infrequent lifting up to 75 lbs.Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces for at least 4 hours per dayAbility to bend, kneel and work with arms raised for prolonged periods of timeAbility to climb over and into heavy equipment several times per dayOccasional working at heights above 10 ftExposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or fumesAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard torace, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.We consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with state and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance.
