Porter will be responsible, under the direction of the Maintenance Manager & Facilities Manager, for the overall maintenance of the apartment buildings and all areas related to the day‐to‐day maintenance operations of the community. Essential duties include but are not limited to:
Specific Duties
Keeps buildings in clean and orderly condition
Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums floors of buildings, using cleaning solutions, tools and equipment
Performs other cleaning duties, such as operating motor-driven cleaning equipment, washing walls and glass and
removing trash
Duties may include performing routine junior maintenance activities
Reports safety issues & concerns
Notifies management of need for repairs
Landscaping
Removal of snow and debris from common areas
Notifies management about concerns regarding complaints about excessive noise, disorderly conduct, or misuse of
property
Responds to emergencies
Assist with unit turnovers
Provides access for various vendors
Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
Porters must maintain a professional and courteous manner with residents, visitors,
contractors and fellow employees. Maintenance Porters must have the necessary tools to effectively
complete tasks outlined above. One must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions and be able to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
