Cash Applications Specialist

Summary of position:We are looking for an energetic and experienced Cash Applications Specialist to join our team. The AR Team processes high volumes of transactions and remittances, scanning, invoicing, and reconciling items from disparate systems. As part of our team, this role will post payments and handle payment reconciliation. The ideal candidate is a motivated problem-solver who can collaborate effectively on larger teams and possesses accurate data entry skills and an eye for detail. Ideally this role will help elevate our cash application processes by innovating and leveraging automation and technology. This role works in-office Monday-Thursday and has the option to work remotely on Fridays.Responsibilities: Daily processing of cash receipts and postings to customer accounts, including checks, wire transfers, ACH payments, and credit card payments. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between payments received and outstanding invoices. Collaborate with internal teams, such as Project Management and Accounting, to resolve payment issues and discrepancies. Identify daily unapplied amounts, post to customer accounts, and save supporting documentation related to resolutions. Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce manual processes. Prepare and distribute reports summarizing cash receipts, aging accounts, and outstanding balances. Maintain updated documentation of cash application processes and procedures. Maintenance of records for auditing purposes (filing remittances, bank statements, approved write offs). Support the A/R Supervisor with respect to any relevant issues relating to cash receipts, applications, or collections.Requirements: Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree preferred; minimum of High School Diploma. 1-3 years of Cash Applications experience. 1+ years of customer service experience. Intermediate Excel Skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Teams. Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite. Strong critical thinking skills, using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions to problems. Team oriented, flexible, friendly, and self-motivated. Ability to work and communicate with all levels of employees and management via email, telephone, or in person. Detail oriented, accurate and timely in production of requested material or assignments and in tracking and reporting time spent on various projects and customer activities.
