In need of a home health aide for a young man with autism on the extreme end of the spectrum in Mandeville, La.
Client is 22 years of age and nonverbal.
Rate of pay is between $13 to $14 an hour depending on experience.
The job is for 35 hours a week max.
Hours are 10:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. Saturday is 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Sundays are always off.
Tasks include:
-Seeing to it he is prepared a snack or lunch depending on the day. (Food will be available)
-Providing him a shower after his snack or lunch, making sure he is washed and clean and putting him in pajamas for the evening. (Gloves and hygiene products will be available)
-Operating his television for him when he request. He often needs help selecting movies off of Disney+ and he will require help restarting movies once one movie ends.
-Making sure he is cleaned up after such as his eating area and washing any food utensils, bowls, and/or plates he uses while eating.
-Washing his dirty clothing at least once a week, including drying, folding, and hanging said clothing.
-Making his bed every day and making sure his room and bathroom are straight.
-Washing and drying his bedding once a week.
-Tending to his needs and making sure he stays out of certain rooms in the house he knows he doesn’t belong.
-Keeping a close eye and ear out for him since he has seizures on occasion and he will need assistance during and in recovering from them.
This is not a live in situation. Reliable transportation is needed.
