Social Media Strategist

As a Social Media Strategist, we expect you to serve as a mid-level role in client success for our Social Media Department. You work directly under our Senior Director of Social Media while further developing your abilities to handle larger accounts. This position requires strong copywriting skills and is best paired with an ability to analyze data to inform your work.

There’s a reason we call our employees Optimists. Named for 5+ years to various Best Places to Work lists, we offer a truly exceptional agency, with competitive compensation, strong-work life balance, significant employee development budgets, three-time-a-year employee reviews, clear paths to career progression, plentiful PTO (plus unlimited sick time for mental + physical health,) and of course, office pups.

We offer a truly hybrid workplace. We have staff working out of amazing office spaces in New Orleans, LA. You may also work remote from anywhere in the US, either at home or at a coworking space that we provide. You can work either ET or CT.

To be considered, you must apply from our website.

Job responsibilities will be:

Overseeing the creation of content for between 6–10 of our clients’ social media presence online, including planning out content calendars, writing copy, providing direction and feedback to designers and our short-form video creator, and scheduling posts.

Overseeing the management of paid social media advertising campaigns for 3–5 accounts across Meta and LinkedIn, with the opportunity to learn and improve skills to manage larger paid campaigns.

Provide support to Online Optimism’s social media channels, delivering industry-leading creative and management to our profiles.

Craft engaging creative for clients that stand out from the crowd, and other agencies or social media consultants.

Utilize Meta’s business Manager, Sprout Social’s reporting tools, Google Analytics, and other metrics to measure your campaign’s success and optimize future work.

Light monitoring/response work outside of normal business hours, on a rotating basis: this is about 1 hour of weekend work every four weeks, checking the SproutSocial feed for any emergencies/messages that need to be responded to. You receive two additional PTO days per year in exchange for this work.
