We are looking for the next Senior Staff Accountant/Systems Administrator for an established, financial client in the Greater Minnesota Metro area. This role is responsible for the optimization and management of internal accounting systems and software as it relates to the accuracy of the general ledger and fixed asset accounting practices across the organization. Working closely with various departments to address and understand accounting requirements and implement necessary customizations, this role has a direct impact to how the current accounting software aligns to meet evolving company needs.
Key qualifications for success include strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a profound understanding of accounting principles. Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is crucial for seamlessly integrating Sage Intacct into the organization’s financial workflows.
What the Role Entails (Essential Duties):
-Ensures accuracy, integrity, and consistency of financial master data across accounting systems, including the General Ledger and Fixed Asset system
-Develops and implement data governance procedures, including system access controls, to uphold data integrity
-Collaborates with Accounting and Finance teams to develop and maintain the integrity of financial reports
-Partners with IT and Project Management to accurately account for capital expenditures
-Leads the maintenance and corrections of financial master data, such as chart of accounts and legal entities
-Maintains current understanding of GAAP accounting standards, industry trends, and best practices related to financial master data management
What We're Looking For (Required Qualifications):
-Bachelors Degree in accounting or a related field
-CPA highly desired
-Three to four years of accounting experience, preferably with financial software expertise
-Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - heavy Excel
-Strong reasoning and critical thinking abilities
-Eagle-eye attention to detail and exceptional accuracy
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels and mediums
