ELM Utility Services is currently seeking a Junior Network Administrator to join our Missoula IT team. This role is perfect for candidates looking to kickstart their career in network administration, with opportunities for growth and development. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years of relevant experience or a strong educational background in IT, system administration, enterprise networking, or a related field.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior network administrators on projects and initiatives
- Assist in the maintenance and administration of our hybrid cloud network infrastructure
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
- Provide support for network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
- Help troubleshoot network connectivity issues and implement solutions
- Monitor network performance and security
- Assist in the configuration and installation of network equipment and software
- Identify & escalate situations requiring urgent attention
Minimum Education/Experience:
- 2-year degree in a related field OR
- 2-years' Experience in a related field
Competencies:
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN)
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, batch) for automation tasks
- Familiarity with network security practices and tools
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Network and server support experience
Preferred:
- Networking Certification (Network+, CCNA)
- Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, batch) for automation tasks
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Cloud Certification (Azure, AWS, GCP)
