Reading Quest, a local non-profit, provides professional support for children who need help with reading. During the school year, we tutor during the school day, afterschool, and Saturdays. Our work is all in-person, with the exception of meetings on Zoom. We are also seeking tutors to work in schools in Bernalillo, New Mexico.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, part-time or full-time Reading Specialist to work in person at schools during the school day and if possible, after school at our magical reading center starting next fall. Training and summer program work can begin this summer if possible. We are looking for someone who has experience working with children in elementary and/or middle school and truly enjoys empowering them to learn how to read using explicit structured literacy, phonics and reading games aligned with the science of reading. We provide extensive training and on-going support for all of our Reading Specialists. The training for this position could begin right away and could lead to summer work as well or start in the fall. This part time job has the potential to become full-time. We help our Reading Specialists create a work schedule that works for them. Pay begins at $25/hour to $30/hour depending on experience and increases to $35-$40/hour over time.
