Description Robert Half is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with a desire to join a reputable company in the Hi Tech Engineering industry. This role handles essential tasks, such as financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Candidates with strong analytical skills and a preference for challenging and fast-paced work environments will be successful in this position. This Senior Accountant role is based in Garden City, New York with a company in the Hi Tech Engineering field. The company boasts excellent compensation and benefits and offers potential for advancement.Major responsibilities
Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls. Additionally, be able to provide support on special requests Requirements - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Efficient in ERP systems
Proven knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
Skills in Analyze Revenues
Deep understanding of Accounting close process
Experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation
General familiarity with Accrual Accounting
Account reconciliation experience preferred
Foundational knowledge in Accounting Entries
Quality experience with Accrued Expenses
Comprehensive knowledge of account analysis
Accounting Guidance experience highly desired
Well-founded grasp of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Comprehension of Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
Good understanding of AIA Billing
Prior experience with Bank Account Reconciliation
Hands-on experience with Balance Sheets
Wide ranging experience with Accrued Liabilities
Previous experience working with Analyze Financial Statements
Solid understanding of bank reconciliations
Earlier work involving Ad Hoc Analysis
Practical knowledge of accruals
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
