Description Robert Half is now hiring for a Cable Technician in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The role involves a significant amount of travel and requires expertise in running cables and installations. This position is a key part of our team, ensuring that our telecom services are delivered smoothly and efficiently across various locations. This role requires travel out of state Monday - Friday. Responsibilities: Effectively run cat5 and cat6 cables and perform installations as per project requirements Frequently travel to different locations for project execution Maintain and uphold the highest standards of quality and safety during installations Use knowledge of Fiber Optics and Microsoft Installer (MSI) in daily operations Ensure all installations are completed within the stipulated time frame Handle and resolve any technical issues that may arise during installations Cooperate and communicate effectively with the team to ensure efficient operations Be ready for regular drug tests as part of the company's policy Report to the corporate office in Oklahoma City when not traveling for projects Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in cable technology.Requirements Demonstrated proficiency in Cabling and Fiber Optics Experience as a Cable Technician or in a similar role Proficiency in using MSI - MicroSoft Installer Ability to troubleshoot and repair cable systems Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent problem-solving skills Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to handle physical workload and work in various weather conditions Valid driver's license and reliable transportation High School Diploma or equivalent Willingness to continue learning and improving skills in this field. Applies electrical, mechanical, and structural knowledge to interpret building plans, engineering drawings, electrical schematics and electrical maintenance and repair manuals to lay out the routing, placement, type, size, gauge, balances, load, continuity and safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment and controls. Receive general assignments from supervisor to include provide technical expertise, process improvements, bench-stock assistance, program redesigns, service order reviews, statements of work reviews, project estimates, part research, part ordering, and to provide/ conduct training for junior technicians. Travel: Travels occasionally (TDY to CONUS locations) while providing services in the field in support of various programs and agreement requirements. These on-site services include but are not limited to facility installations, site inspections, facility removal and replacement, and system level analysis. Follows established safety and security practices in accordance with Agency and AJW-L policies and regulations. Reports security violations to the appropriate lead, manager, or security officials.
