Kingsessing Ice Cream Shop is a newly founded neighborhood ice cream shop. We are a family owned and operated business in West Philly committed to providing fair wages to our employees, and good food at a reasonable price to our patrons. We are seeking new people to grow our small business through the upcoming season.
We are seeking Shift Leads, a part-time, hourly position. The Shift Lead greets customers, takes, prepares, and serves orders, and delegates to the Shift Assistant as needed. When working alone, they are responsible for all shop duties.
Specific responsibilities:
Actively engage with the wide variety of persons who frequent our shop
Prepare and serve ice cream, milkshakes, and espresso drinks
Input customer orders into POS and take payment
Delegate tasks to Shift Assistant as needed
Prepare waffle cones and bowls
Restock and request more stock of food items, drygoods, cleaning chemicals, etc.
Clean, all surfaces, dishes, and equipment as necessary
Other typical food service tasks
Requirements:
Ability to engage with a wide variety of persons in a professional, personable way
Ability to interface with small children
Can lift 35 lbs overhead
Familiarity with making espresso drinks, or willingness to learn quickly
Experience in the food service or hospitality industry
Must be at least 18 years old
The rate for the position is $14/hour + tips (8% of gross revenue).
