Full-Time Bus Operator

PAID Training Provided! $3,500 Sign-On Bonus for candidates with Class A/B CDL, passenger endorsement and air brake restriction removed $2,500 Sign-on Bonus for all other license classifications Do you have an employment background that includes customer service, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work with a diverse group of people? This position requires flexibility, the aptitude to follow direction, and the capability to perform a variety of work-related tasks. Successful completion of CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement training and testing will be required. As a Full-TimeBus Operator at CATA you will be working with a team of dedicated employees who are committed to providing excellent service to all of our staff and customers. Some pertinent responsibilities of the position are listed below.

Safe and timely operation of a transit coach in all types of weather conditions while in compliance with FTA policies/procedures and all Federal and State traffic laws/regulation

Tactful and courteous interaction with riders, other motorists, and the general public

Maintain working knowledge of streets, current bus routes and stops, fare structures, and bus pass programs

Comply with ADA requirements to properly operate the accessibility ramp and wheelchair lifts, safely secure passengers, and make required stop announcements as needed

Perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections

Complete required paperwork accurately and legibly as needed for pre-trip/post-trip, incidents/accidents, and maintenance repair forms

Work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays, and split shifts 40 hours a week is not initially guaranteed

Performs related tasks as required

Trainee Rate: $20.15/hr, Salary for Year One: $21.50/hr, Year Two: $24.18/hr, After Year Two: $26.87/hr

Selected candidate will be subject to motor vehicle record (MVR) check, drug and alcohol testing, criminal background check, and functional requirement evaluation.
