Description If you're an experienced accountant with a knack for accuracy, Robert Half has a terrific opportunity for you to check out at an organization in the Construction/Contractor industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You'll also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will look over schedules for the reporting processes, participate in compliance, and keep in touch with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. The majority of time spent in this position involves producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Goose Creek, South Carolina based company is offering a short-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity that is multi-faceted and challenging in nature. Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments Requirements - Skilled with ERP systems
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Great attention to detail
Prepare Financial Statements experience highly desired
Adeptness in bank reconciliations
Deep understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
Construction experience
Command of Construction Accounting
Demonstrated knowledge of QuickBooks
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred
