Learn more about our benefitshere.We are seeking a dynamic, tech enthusiast, and self-starting individual to join the Commercial Healthcare and Life Sciences (HCLS) team in our Health Business Unit,working from any of the following office locations:Washington, DC; Princeton, NJ; Ann Arbor, MI; Cambridge, MA; Chicago, IL; Oakland, CA; or remotely.The HCLS business development team focuses on expanding Mathematica’s research, digital, data, and advisory services offerings with clients across the commercial healthcare and life sciences markets. The team is dynamic and engages in both proactive and RFP business development opportunities. This team also leads project delivery engagements with Commercial clients, providing the full 360-degree view of our client’s needs.As a member of the Commercial Healthcare and Life Sciences (HCLS) team, you will have the opportunity to:Business Development:

Contribute to the strategic framework for Mathematica’s ongoing business development activities in commercial markets

Assist with various business development, business intelligence gathering, and data analysis tasks

Participate in active outreach to potential partners and support the development of teaming and subcontractor agreements

Assist in the design and execution of sales campaigns using technology tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator

Communicate with client prospects and schedule lead qualification calls. Take detailed notes on qualification calls and help contribute to client pitches and offering discussions, prospect strategy, and execution.

Attend conferences and support sales leadership with planning travel, conference logistics, and prospecting.

Support the development and maintenance of business development materials (for example, one sheets, pitch decks, competitive intelligence dossiers)

Work collaboratively across research, technology, and advisory services teams to ensure adequate material is documented and available for BD activities

Develop with guidance, and oversee maintenance of, analytic sales reports and business level quantitative KPIs

Additional duties may be assigned as needed

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information management, liberal arts, or related field. MBA, MPP, MS, or other relevant graduate degree strongly preferred.

3-5 years of relevant work experience, ideally working with cross-functional technology and advisory services teams in a health technology or health policy consulting context where strategy and business development were the primary responsibilities.

Working knowledge of technology processes such as software development lifecycle (SDLC), extract/transform/load (ETL), and tools (Jira, Confluence, Tableau).

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products, including expert level knowledge of Excel. Superior VBA skills preferred.

Ability to apply technology to provide solutions for decision makers regarding complex business insights.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of $70,000-$90,000. This position may be eligible for an annual bonus, based on company and individual performance.To apply, please submit a cover letter and resume.Staff in our Health unit will eventually work with our largest client, Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS). Most staff working on CMS contracts will be required to complete a successful background investigation including the Questionnaire for Public Trust PositionSF-85. Staff will work with their supervisor to get re-staffed, however if they are unable to do so it may result in employment termination due to lack of work.
