Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:The Building Automation Technician is responsible for start-up, repair, and daily maintenance of computer-based systems that control and monitor a building's mechanical and electrical equipment including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC).JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitor and maintain Building Automation System consisting of Niagara 4 system.

Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical equipment.

Find opportunities for energy savings.

Continuously develop skills with training.

Work with HVAC/R technicians to troubleshoot, install and connect HVAC/R equipment to Building Automation System.

Work with Electricians to install equipment.

Work with Controls Engineers and Technicians.

Create Niagara 4 based graphics and programs for use in the Building Automation System.

Support two way radio system for plant wide communications.

Provide various support tasks for plant management such as exporting data for reports.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or G.E.D.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (MUST HAVES):

Programming experience (any).

Experience troubleshooting AC/DC electrical systems.

Ability to read an electrical diagram or schematic.

Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix issues with equipment.

Ability to communicate technical information effectively.

Ability to show initiative, be a self-starter and be able to work with little to no supervision.

Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Ability to plan, select, test, install and maintain equipment.

Enjoys technically difficult tasks, can find creative solutions to complex problems.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Electronics Background.

Experience as a Technician.

Experience in an industrial facility.

PLC and/or HMI programming/troubleshooting experience.

Experience programming, configuring, or troubleshooting Building Automation Systems.

Experience with AutoCAD, or any other CAD software.

Strong knowledge and understanding of the tools and techniques used to maintain, diagnose problems, and repair HVAC/R and associated electrical systems.

Proficient in reading mechanical drawings.

Mechanically proficient, can work with normal hand tools without assistance.
