Local Food Retail Sales Associate
We are currently seeking applicants who enjoy a positive, high-paced work environment. Sales Associates at Root Cellar learn about the world of locally produced food and help the Columbia community enjoy it!
Responsibilities
Engage with customers and provide great service
Learn about many local and organic products
Work hard loading delivery trucks, handling bulk delivers and stocking
Use your creativity to prepare exciting retail displays
Work independently on a wide range of projects
Support and communicate with amazing co-workers online and in-store
​Qualification
Summer 2024 availability required
Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs repetitively
Be on your feet for 4 to 5 hours at a time
Some college is preferred
A passion for local and sustainably produced food
An ability to identify a variety of fruits and vegetables
Basic technology skills, including email, Word, Excel, and touchscreen
Prior customer service and food-related experience will be strongly considered
A positive attitude and ability to work with a team
Compensation
Sales Associates start at $13/hour and receive one of Root Cellar's weekly subscription boxes as an added benefit ($35 weekly value)
Availability
Start Date: Immediately
Summer 2024 availability required
Availability: 15 to 25 hours per week.
9:30 AM 7:30 PM Tuesday-Friday
8:30 AM 5:30 PM Saturday (Saturday must be available)
