  • The PLC Controls Specialist is responsible for ensuring optimal operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. PLC programmers work in the Manufacturing industry and program automated machinery. Create design schematics, write and install computer programs. The role of the Maintenance Technician is crucial to the overall manufacturing process of our products. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Drawing electrical or mechanical schematics to demonstrate how processes will work. Testing automated systems for efficiency, safety, and reliability. Troubleshooting system errors. Assembling control panels Wiring control panels per wiring diagrams Overseeing installation of PLC programs. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Master Electrician Varied background of both high and low AC and DC voltage systems Varied background in Mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic skills Diagnostics, PLC troubleshooting and design, HMI Implementation as well as overall systems integration. Equipment diagnostics, Troubleshooting and repair of system controls. Motor Drives – AllenBradley,ABB,Yaskawa At least three years prior experience in mechanical and/or electrical position. Proficiency in CAD and AutoCAD software. Have working experience with 480V/3 phase industrial equipment and controls. Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Have working knowledge of OSHA regulations. Must be able to work under the direction of a maintenance leader, supervisor, or manager. Strong problem-solving skills; ability to ask the right questions. Strong verbal and written communication competencies. Able to function well as a team member. Able to adhere to safety equipment and standards. Must be able to travel. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and night shift if necessary. Physical Demands: climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching and walking. May require lifting of objects weighing up to 50lbs.

  • The Fitter is responsible for the lay out, fit, and fabrication of metal components to assemble structural forms using angle iron, I-beams, and plate steel.  The Fitter will utilize hand tools and welding equipment while following shop details specifications. Whirlwind’s goal is to provide fabricated structures for families, congregations and businesses, in the most efficient and safe manner while maintaining our Brand Promise of \"No Headaches\". The role of the Fitter is crucial to the overall manufacturing process of our products. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Read blueprints or other specifications Aligns parts using jack, turnbuckles, overhead cranes, pins, wedges and hammer Measure to specifications Identify parts for assembly in proper order Cut and wash with torch (Oxy Fuel or Plasma) Tack weld pieces together Removes high spots using grinders Inspect and ensure that completed work conforms to specifications by the company May perform repairs for testing if required May serve as a problem-solving resource to others Complete all required records Operate overhead crane.   • As a Material Handler, you will transfer material manually by hand, Forklift, or a lifting device attached to a hoist/crane. Duties/Responsibilities: Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated locations. The ability to understand storage and rotation procedures. Stacking material properly Transports and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids). Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Good math and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Efficient time management skills. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or other formal training in related field preferred. At least two years of related experience required.  Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time. Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, when handling box cutters or similar tools.
