Job Details Position: To participate in, coordinate and oversee the preparation of food for patients, Food & Nutrition staff, and for special functions. Responsibilities: Directs, engages in and is responsible for the overall preparation of food for patients, staff and special functions. Demonstrate organizational skills for efficient meal production. Maintains a neat, clean, and safe work environment at all times. Ensures that high standards of operation, safety and infection prevention and control are met. Ensures self and staff use appropriate body mechanics to lessen the risk of injury. Oversees the cleanliness of the kitchen. Delegates sanitation assignments to Dietary Aides and cooks. Alerts Director of deficiencies. Effectively assembles ingredients following standardized, approved recipes. Inspects food for quality, appearance and taste. Ensures the proper storage, rotation and holding of food. Communicates to the Director when there are issues or concerns with food utilization, specifications, pack or portion size, and product yield. Ensures staff adheres to department policies and procedures regarding food handling and preparation. Provides meals and services that reflect an understanding of cultural and religious diversities. Creates and maintains an atmosphere of courtesy and respect towards staff, patients, family members. Coordinates work schedules to ensure meals are served within the appropriate specifications and within the appropriate time frame. Posts cook schedules at least 10 days in advance. Communicates to the Director when there are issues or concerns regarding work load, performance or products produced by the cooks. Offers ongoing suggestions for improving meal service, including assisting and developing standardized recipes, standardized portion sizes, and menu enhancements and development. Conducts training to the culinary staff when recipes or products are changed. Orders food supplies as instructed, including items from our major purveyor, fish, meat and frozen food vendors. Overview St. Catherine of Siena Hospital, affiliated with Catholic Health, is located in Smithtown, NY on a beautiful 110-acre campus that includes a 290-bed community hospital, a 240-bed nursing and rehabilitation facility, and a 60,000 sq. ft. medical office building. SCS is engaged with error reduction initiatives and on a journey to High Reliability. We have been recognized in superior care in stroke and sepsis patients, have also recently attained Center of Excellence in Bariatric Surgery, and have been designated as the only Baby Friendly hospital in Suffolk County. Job Details POSITION SUMMARY: To assist the clinical dietitian with coordinating & assembling information for accurate tray & nourishment preparation & food production. Responsibilities Responsible for patient menus and diets Responsible for coordination of patient menus, diets, and nourishments for each meal. Reviews menus and exercises extreme caution to ensure that the current diet matches the current order. Refers problems and questions to Clinical Dietitian. Prints menus in the morning to be distributed by floor host to patients to complete at breakfast. Prints tallies for each meal24.65 and distributes to appropriate staff. Answers telephone, places room service requests in CBORD and expedites patient requests. Job Details Program Director Responsibilities: Complete an evaluation of the current departmental resources required and available to support the training program proposed to ensure full compliance with ACGME requirements Develop rotations to support the accreditation of the Program utilizing all resources as needed to ensure compliance Prepare the full ACGME residency application for submission to the DIO/Chairman of GME and the ACGME enabling accreditation Prepare all supporting goals/objectives, policies and any additional documents required for accreditation Select faculty and supervising program personnel as they relate to the residents Prepare for and participate in all site visits, inquires and responses posed by the ACGME Evaluate all needs of the program to ensure or maintain compliance with the ACGME requirements Appoint the required committees and faculty mentors to fulfill the needs of the program and maintain accreditation Prepare the full curriculum to support the fully accredited ACGME Hospital program as required by the specific RRC Participate and be responsible for the recruitment of trainees into the accredited program Supervision and training of House Staff Coordination of program In service exams GME administrative duties Attendance at mandatory meetings Program Director Education Requirements: MD or DO Must include specialty expertise and at least three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience Must include current board certification in the specialty for which they are the program director by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM), or specialty qualifications that are acceptable to the Review Committee The Review Committee only accepts current certification in internal medicine from the ABIM or AOBIM (Core) Must include ongoing clinical activity Must have experience working as part of an interdisciplinary, inter- professional team to create an educational environment that promotes high-quality care, patient safety, and resident well-being Salary Range USD $300,000.00 - USD $330,000.00 /Yr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
